Secluded Mirissa..
Located four kilometers south-east of Weligama, not far from the southern tip of the island, Mirissa is well-known for its memorable sunsets and swaying coconut trees. Riding the waves and indulging yourself in that feeling of welcome seclusion is par for the course in this part of the world. Much like Pasikudah, the wates off Mirissa are shallow, which makes the beach safe for children. And the seashore is mostly smooth and rock free. Mirissa is also a favourite spot for whale watching with tours abroad observation boats. The best time to catch a glimpse of these giant sea creatures is between November and April.
